Bedtime is probably the most exhausting part of my day. Not my bedtime but Ethan's. The routine typically takes about an hour a night, including going back in and getting him to stay in bed.
The trouble is that when I'm in the room with him, he wants to play with me and be active. And if I tell him that it's time for me to go he says "Don't go anywhere, Daddy."
Then once I do get him to lie down and be quiet for a few minutes and I'm able to get out the door, after a few minutes he comes and starts playing with the doorknob.
It's exhausting (did I already mention that?)
So, last night after putting him down from 7:00-8:15pm, I decided that I was going to bed too. I read for a little bit and turned the light off at 9:00. Ethan slept in this morning until 7:00am so I got a good night's sleep.
And I feel much better.
