Big Boy

This has been a busy week. I have more videos to upload, but I'm feeling a bit sick tonight.
I don't really have any symptoms, just no energy.

But, before I go down, I wanted to post that Ethan just went to sleep in his big boy bed for the first time tonight. We took the crib out of his room, moved some furniture around, and just did it.

At first he wanted to come out into the hall to get into his crib. Then he explored the new layout of his room and just ran around for a bit. He's very cute because he's picked up "I right back" from when we have to leave him at our neighbor's house and tell him that "I'll be right back". If we say that we'll wait for him, he runs off somewhere and then comes back (usually with something in hand). Tonight he was just saying that then running over to the closed door.

After a while I picked him up and sang a song. That always makes him tired. So, then I put him in bed and told him that he needed to lay down and I would hold his hand. He did for a little bit, but then started to talk about things and get active. So I told him that I was going to leave and gave him a hug.

Leaving did not make him happy. I stayed out for about 10 minutes while he cried, and eventually he was saying "let's go, let's go" so I went back in and he was kneeling on his bed waiting for me.
I held his hand and he laid down with his baby. He stayed in bed for a while, then he wanted to come lie with me on the floor. So we did that for a while. Then he wanted to bring his blanket down to the floor and spread it out to lie on that. We did that for a while.
Then he started to play around his room again so I left.

I waited for 10 minutes, he wasn't crying as badly but still wanted me to come back in and was whimpering. So I went back in but kept telling him that he needed to lie down and I would hold his hand. When I told him that I was going to go he would lie back down and stretch out his arm towards me.
Finally, after much more pretend sleeping than the last times, he tried to climb out of his bed. So, I decided to make my break while he was still in bed. I got out the door while he was trying to get over the railing.
He cried for a minute, but quieted down pretty quickly. And we haven't heard a peep out of him since.
